Page Personnel Logistics are currently looking to recruit a Transport Planner for a client based in the Tilbury Docks area. Client Details Our client are a leading global logistics organisation. This role will focus on the container side of the business and we are especially interested to hear from candidates in this space. Description In the role of Transport Planner you will have the following key responsibilities: Planning the fleet of vehicles, ensuring their maximum utilisation and customer satisfaction. Produce a daily Transport Plan in line with customer orders and expectations, negotiating best times where possible to best utilise the fleet. Utilise vehicles to plan all vehicles with a view to support and maximise daily revenue targets. Provide new work quotations. Resource subcontractors ensuring full induction / company standards are communicated and formally agreed, when efficient to use. Negotiate subcontractor rates. Attend daily planning review meetings to approve next day and night plan. Ensure plans are at best cost solutions. Update systems accurately and utilise its functionality. Ensure customer service levels with all customers are achieved.Profile The ideal candidate will have experience working with the transport team for container logistics through which you will have gained a full understanding of tachograph, working time and drivers' hours regulations.. You will need strong organisational skills and good geographical knowledge as well as excellent IT and communication skills.
