Senior Analyst / Lab Manager – Dioxin and PCBs, Southampton

Senior Analyst / Lab Manager ? Dioxin and PCBs I am working with a leading provider of analytical services, who is currently looking for a Senior Analyst /Lab Manager to join the business. You will be responsible for the overall running of the Dioxins instrument laboratory and management of the analytical workload within the laboratory. To ensure sample testing is completed in a timely and safe manner in accordance with the requirements of the Quality Systems and Standard Operating Procedures. The Role: ? Overall running of the Dioxins instrument laboratory and management of the analytical workload within the laboratory. ? Method development, modification, verification and validation of all methods within the lab, with a strong focus on Dioxins and PCBs and other High Res/QQQ methods. ? Management of all analytical systems and methods troubleshooting on all instruments as and when needed. ? Interaction with customers on technical issues. ? Collation of Trend Data, statistical review and assessment. ? Leading the team by coaching, counselling, motivating, and managing performance as needed; planning, monitoring and appraising job results. The Candidate: ? Degree level or equivalent experience in science. ? Good understanding of preparative and instrumental techniques applicable to the isolation and measurement of trace level analytes in complex matrices. ? Relevant technical experience resulting in knowledge and application of best technical practice, analytical method development, and validation using complex instrumental analysis techniques (including GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, HPLC/MS, HPLC/MS/MS) with associated high-level problem-solving skills ? Previous Dioxins and PCBs analytical experience is desirable. ? Team management or staff management would be desirable
