Java Software Developer - Bath (Tech For Good)

Java Developer | Central Bath | Tech for good startup Brand new opportunity for an experienced Java developer to join a Bath software company. They work on technology that is genuinely having a positive impact on people's lives, you will be working on something with a much bigger purpose and making a difference. What is the role? It is very rounded and will allow you to be involved with all aspects of the software delivery cycle. This is a great opportunity for someone who eventually wants to step into more of a Senior position and help provide leadership to the team. Their platform is just 3 years old and they have been keeping up to date with the latest tech since they first built it, so you'll have the chance to significantly contribute to the overall design, approach, and requirements. Day to day your responsibilities will include the development of Java Microservices, creating and maintaining automated tests, verifying applications to integrate with other systems. You'll be taking ownership of tasks and deliverables and working closely with other team members. What is the team like? A small team of about 6 people, with plans to keep growing. It's made up of mobile developers working with React Native and JavaScript, Full-stack Java devs, and technical architects. They are just about to launch two new products, so the demand for this role is to come and work on the server-side of them. We are looking for someone who is very much self-motivated and able to come in and get on with what needs doing, but you will also have strong expertise, guidance, and support around you. What we're looking for: Java and Spring experience Experience of writing well-tested code (TDD) Strong ability to demonstrate technical design A desire to get involved with all aspects of the Software Delivery Cycle You're a strong team player.As I mentioned, their platform is relatively young and they are always looking for the best and latest technology to use on it, at present their tech stack includes Java, Spring, JavaScript, Node.JS, TypeScript, React Native, AWS, Terraform, Microservices, RESTful APIs, Cucumber, Junit, Mockito, BDD, Docker and more.
