Team4you are delighted to be working with a local, well respected Insurance firm, who are engaging our Services to recruit an Agricultural Schemes Underwriter. This is unique role requiring strong underwriting experience. If you are from an agricultural background, this would be a strong advantage, however this is not essential. Full training will be given to the successful candidate. The role is ideally to be based in Shrewsbury, however if deemed appropriate it does afford the opportunity to work remotely from home. The role is therefore not restricted to local candidates. The Role Working within the Agricultural Schemes Department in connection with business placed by brokers. The work is predominantly with non-motor insurances, with minor involvement with motor insurance. Underwriting and administration of new business enquiries. Underwriting and administration of renewals. Dealing with initial claims notifications. Assisting colleagues with their work in these areas. Skills and Knowledge Required Suitable general insurance knowledge and experience. Knowledge of and experience with Agricultural Insurance, in particular in the non-motor sector. Additional knowledge of agricultural motor insurance is preferable, but not essential. Good keyboard skills and IT competency, including with e-mails and the internet. Good standard of telephone and written communications, and general customer service. Experience of dealing with broker enquiries (preferred, but not essential). Ability to work under pressure, and prioritise work in order to meet required deadlines. Thorough understanding of the Company?s IT platform (after suitable training has been given). Accountabilities and Responsibilities To analyse information provided or gathered, and to make suitable underwriting decisions. To process and resolve broker enquiries in a polite and efficient manner. To perform and complete business transactions in accordance with the Company?s standards. To maintain accurate and secure records in relation to work carried out. To undergo training in all aspects of systems, products, and procedures. To comply at all times with the requirements of the FCA rules. To undertake all other duties as reasonably required by the Directors.
