Job Specification Job Title Electro-mechanical Lead Shift Engineer ? Rotational Day/Nightshift Main Purpose/Objectives Supplying the production lines with breakdown cover in order to optimise production whilst ensuring any work is carried out is in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and legislation Reporting to Production Manager (on nights) Engineering Manager (on days) Hours of Work : Shifts will consist of Sunday to Thursday Night 10pm to 7am with Days 8.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 5pm Fridays. The rota is currently on a fortnightly turn around. Some overtime and shift changes may be required to suit production needs and scheduled shutdowns. Overview This is a varied, busy and active hands-on Manufacturing Engineer role. Duties are wide ranging where the main objective is to ensure that production equipment is safely and efficiently maintained. The role is fast-paced and demanding on dayshift when the main site is in full operation. As this position is the only Engineer whilst on nightshift, a wide range of skills and the ability to focus and solve problems is essential to complete the day to day demands as well as special projects. The ideal candidate will be agile and dynamic with the confidence to provide technical responsibility for the partner Shift Engineer. In relation to all duties a strict adherence to Company guidelines and all Health & Safety rules and legislation is mandatory. There will be an initial introductory period worked on days alongside day shift engineers before progressing onto nights; where, thereafter, there will be a probationary period of 6 months and a training plan appropriate to the candidate?s abilities. A review of salary will take place thereafter. Experience & Skills Required Essential ? all candidates must demonstrate: * A recognised relevant electrical qualification * Excellent faultfinding/diagnostic skills in Electrical and mechanical applications * Background in manufacturing environment * Experience of a minimum 5 years * Experience with: * Packaging Machinery * 3 x phase controls/installations * Motor drives/inverters etc * Relay logic and integrated medium voltage control systems * Pneumatic and hydraulic circuits on a machine tool level * Flexibility in mechanical repair to rotating machinery/pumps/gearboxes etc. * Some knowledge of small industrial package boilers and rotary air compressors * Self-motivation Desirable - Familiarity with the following would be a distinct advantage: * Flowrap packaging machines * Heatsealers * C N C controlled band knifes * Auto feed beam presses * Non-woven carding line Company Information * We?re a critical hygiene business supplying the retail market * During the pandemic we?ve had very strong sales and worked continually to service our customers * Have remained a stable employer without having needed to furlough employees Salary Competitive Salary to reflect skill set of applicants
