Kerr Mackie is a large primary school in the Roundhay area of Leeds. The school is multi-cultural with pupils from a wide range of backgrounds. Our creative curriculum and teaching approaches together with the vibrant learning environments enthuse, engage and motivate our children.
We are seeking to appoint a Level 1 Teaching Assistant (supporting SEMH needs) to join our l team. Duties will include supporting the class teacher with teaching&learning, SEND support for pupil(s), carrying out interventions and any other related duties.

- Attend to the pupils'personal needs, and implement related personal programmes, including social, health,physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
- Supervise and support pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning
- Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, including before and after school and at lunchtimes.
- Work with a real focus on SEMH both 1 to 1 and across the cohort
- Establish good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and being aware of and responding appropriately to individual needs
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
- Have a caring and positive nature
- Be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- Be committed to high standards of behaviour
- Be willing to contribute positively to promote the values and ethos of our school and in developing relationships with the local community
- Be able to work as part of a team but also show initiative to work independently
- Have high expectations of themselves and the children.
- Be a confident and successful team player.
- Be able to form excellent relationships with children, staff and families.
