The Role:

As an Investment Partner for Yorkshire, you will be the bridge between OfI and senior regional/national partners, both public and private. Across Yorkshire you will be responsible for building partnerships with regional leaders, C-suite investors, and other government departments. Your goal is to develop high-quality, large-scale investment opportunities that align with the region's growth priorities.

Job description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent OfI in Yorkshire, working closely with mayors, chief executives, and business leaders to bring large-scale investment opportunities to market.
  • Lead and deliver transformative investment deals, collaborating with key stakeholders across HMG and the private sector.
  • Identify and support transformational investment opportunities where OfI's expertise can increase the likelihood of success.
  • Act as a central point of contact between senior regional stakeholders and OfI, providing expertise on the investment landscape.
  • Lead national initiatives to unlock investment, such as new financial models and innovative financing.
  • Organize and lead ministerial or investor visits and events in Yorkshire.
  • Provide leadership to OfI's place function, including line management of the wider team.

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to represent the UK's investment environment to senior stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of the global investment landscape and a proven track record of facilitating strategic investments.
  • Strong network across, or detailed knowledge of, Yorkshire's investment and commercial environment.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills, with a history of building effective relationships and collaboration.
  • Sound business acumen and knowledge of various investment modes, with experience working in or with multiple HMG departments or leading financial organizations.
  • Experience working within or alongside the public sector so as to understand government operations in complex environments.

We are looking for a proactive and experienced leader who can drive relationship development with senior leaders across Whitehall, local government, and C-suite decision-makers. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the private sector and the ability to lead teams and influence strategy at a senior level.

LocationThis job covers the Yorkshire region. Candidates do not necessarily need to be based in Yorkshire, they could work from the DBT Hub Offices in Manchester or Darlington, but frequent travel across Yorkshire will be required as part of this role.
