Carton Gluing Operative, South Shields

Rotating Shifts – Monday to Friday
(06:00–13:30 / 13:30–21:00)

I’m currently working with a well‑established packaging manufacturer who are looking to add an experienced Carton Gluing Operative to their production team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy and growing business supplying high‑quality carton packaging solutions within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role within the finishing department, ensuring products are produced efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

• Setting up and operating carton gluing machinery
• Producing Straight Line, Crash Lock, 4 Corner, and 6 Corner cartons
• Running Window Patching and Tray Forming/Nesting equipment
• Monitoring quality, adhesion, folding accuracy, and overall finish
• Carrying out quality checks and completing production documentation
• Supporting machine changeovers and troubleshooting minor faults
• Working to production targets while minimising downtime and waste
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping and health & safety standards
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across production

• Previous experience within carton gluing or packaging production
• Experience with Straight Line, Crash Lock, 4 Corner, and 6 Corner cartons
• Experience with Bobst machinery would be highly advantageous
• Window patching or tray forming experience beneficial
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving ability
• Good understanding of quality standards, GMP, and manufacturing procedures
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work effectively within a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure

• Salary up to £35,000 depending on experience
