A unique opportunity has arisen to join an exciting manufacturer, as they continue to expand their global presence in a very specific market. My client seek an Applications Engineer at a senior level, although a graduate would also be of interest to them. Primary duties of the role: -Provide technical leadership for new and legacy products customers.  -Interface with marketing, design and the customers to provide support for new products and support existing products. -Be the voice of the customer and an active member within in New Product Development Teams. -Provide the necessary reference designs to enable customers to implement our products successfully. -Own the delivery of customer documentation, application notes and datasheets. -Maintain customer database for all customer contact. -Visit customers for on-site problem solving and technical discussion when required in support of the field applications team. -Effective working relationships developed and maintained at all times. Requirements of the candidate: -BSc degree in Electrical/ Electronic/ Optical Engineering with preferably a second degree in an associated field. -Proven experience in design and/or support of optical/digital/fibre components or modules. -Familiarity with related optical and industry standards. -Knowledge of PCB schematic design and layout tools.
