We are seeking an experiencedProject Director / Bid Directorto play a pivotal role in bothwinning and delivering major opportunities. This is a senior leadership role combining strategic bid leadership with accountable project delivery.

This role sits within the Intelligent Infrastructure business and will contribute to our systems engineering, digital and technology infrastructure and design capability. Our team provides operational technology, roadside infrastructure design, specification and testing assurance and solution guidance to a range of clients.

A little more about your role...

This is a highly visible position where you will:

• Leadmajor bids and framework opportunities, setting winning strategies and overseeing end-to-end bid development
• Act asProject Director on key commissions, accountable for successful delivery across scope, cost, programme and quality
• Shape ourclient relationships at senior level, supporting long-term growth with key clients such as National Highways and local authorities
• Provide leadership across multidisciplinary teams, fostering a culture ofsafety, collaboration and delivery excellence

You will operate across the full lifecycle-from opportunity shaping and capture through to mobilisation and delivery-ensuring continuity, commercial rigour, and client confidence.

What will you be responsible for?

Bid Leadership

• Define and leadwin strategies, value propositions and partnering approaches for Intelligent Infrastructure commissions
• Direct bid teams, coordinating technical, commercial, and governance inputs
• Ensure compliance with WSP governance, including risk, commercial and quality reviews

Lead client engagement during pursuit phases, including presentations and negotiations

Project Direction&Delivery

• Act asProject Director for major projects and programmes, ensuring safe, compliant and profitable delivery
• Maintain accountability forcommercial performance, contract obligations and risk management
• Lead project governance, reporting and client engagement
• Ensure delivery teams achieve programme milestones, quality standards and budget targets

Leadership&Growth

• Build and lead high-performing teams across disciplines and locations
• Mentor and develop senior staff and future leaders
• Identify and convert pipeline opportunities, supporting business growth
• Contribute to capability development and continuous improvement initiatives

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate...

• Proven experience delivering£1m+digital infrastructure projects or programmesin a Project Director or equivalent role
• Strong track record ofleading and winning complex bids (£3m+), including frameworks and large-scale tenders
• Commercial acumen, including contract management, risk mitigation and financial performance
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and engage effectively with senior clients and stakeholders
• Experience operating within structured governance and assurance environments
• Excellent communication, influencing and leadership skills
