Project Design Engineer, Scotland

Project Design Engineer We are excited to be working with one of our innovative clients based in the Central Belt. Due to growth and development, they would like to add a creative Design Engineer to bolster their team. This role would suit someone looking for a new challenge to join a project where they are constantly driving towards creating new revolutionary and innovative ideas to support the Utilities sector. Within this role, you will be working closely within a small dynamic group to complete a number of small to larger scale design projects. You will be responsible for researching and developing ideas with an established ISO9001 design process for new products/solutions to meet customer requirements. Role You will be assigned project work packages against deliverable deadlines, where you will be required to use your engineering experience, analytical, drafting and reporting skills to design solutions and overcome challenges under your own initiative. Take responsibility for noticing customer care problems and solving these promptly after liaising with Senior Management; Work towards clear objectives that support company aims of generating and delivering quality work; Participate and lead in product design activities including requirements gathering, specifications, ideation, CAD design and detailed product drawings, analysis within a project lifecycle.. Design, implement and test new products to prove desired features and specifications that meet project requirements. Maintain accurate records, demonstrating full compliance with the company's ISO9001 Design Control Procedures.Person A degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering. Ideally, previously worked in a pipeline, fabrication or Utility equipment design role Minimum of 5+ years' experience of Solidworks (and Product Data Management (PDM)) and be proficient in its operation: - Ability to create accurate models and assemblies. ? Produce detailed toleranced drawings, assembly instructions and Bill of Material's (BOM's) Experience of working within a project design environment Creative mindset and 'thinking outside the box' A detailed working knowledge and understanding of precision engineering and fabrication is essential. Knowledge of sheet material, fabrics, high performance fabrics, fabric structure jointing and inflatable structures is desirable.This role can be worked remotely for the right candidate.
