Saw Operator, SK4

Our client based in Stockport are looking to recruit an experienced saw Operator. Job Description Saw Operator- sets up and operates power saws to cut, slot, mitre and trim non-metallic and metallic workpieces according to specifications. Selects and installs blade on the machine, using hand tools. Sets controls to adjust speed, feed rate. Positions guides, stops or other fixings to secure and direct workpiece.Cuts material to drawing, specifications. Mounts workpiece in holding device, to cut workpiece to length. Verifies dimension of finished workpiece, using measuring equipment. Understand and comply with work instructions, including interpreting manufacture drawings. QA406, 407,408, 409, 417, CD & SD drawings.· Ability to measure accurately using tape measures, squares etc.· Understand and identify the different aluminium sections to be cut.· Understand and comply with the operation of the different saws on the shop floor and their function.This includes the safe working practices of each saw in line with the work instruction and health and safety requirements. Inspect aluminium sections for any damage. Store cut aluminium sections in the correct location. Selection of the correct saw for the particular aluminium section. Deburr aluminium sections. Label of sections with the correct reference. Monitor aluminium stock levels and report low stock levels to the Production Controller.· Assist in unloading aluminium delivery?s from the mill ? Load and unload stillage?s for powder coated sections. ? Assist in the housekeeping of the stored aluminium. ? Clean and maintain saws weekly. ? Report any non-conformances to the Production Controller ? Suggest any manufacturing/production process improvements to the Production Controller ? Keep work area clean & tidy at all times, including general housekeeping of the shop floor. Comply with all Health and Safety requirements including Risk Assessments & COSHH assessments Wear all appropriate PPE at all times. Perform any other reasonable duties. Hours of work: Monday to Thursday. 08.00 - 16.45 Friday. 08.00 - 12.00. Holidays: 31 days holiday each year, inclusive of any bank holidays
