Alternative Provision Teaching Assistant – Stockport – Age Range: 11–16 – Salary: £100+ per day – Contract: Full-time/Part-time/Flexible

We are seeking a resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. The role supports pupils with complex social, emotional and behavioural needs through a trauma‑informed approach, working closely with teachers and therapists to create a safe, structured, and engaging learning environment.

• Support pupils with SEMH needs in classroom and pastoral settings
• Apply trauma‑informed practices to aid emotional regulation and behaviour
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Assist in delivering personalised learning and intervention strategies
• Promote a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment
• Support pupils in developing social skills, resilience, and self‑confidence
• Work collaboratively with staff, parents and carers to support holistic development

• Passionate about supporting young people with SEMH needs
• Patient, empathetic, and emotionally intelligent
• Skilled or willing to develop skills in trauma‑informed practice
• Resilient and calm under pressure
• Strong communication skills, able to build meaningful relationships
• Experience in education, care, youth work or a similar field (desirable but not essential)

This is a temporary position unless stated otherwise. Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
