Job overview

You will be enthusiastic and motivated with excellent organisation and interpersonal skills to work as part of the Ward 122 team, taking direction from the clinical team to ensure the smooth running of the Ward. The post involves liaising with a number of departments and handling queries from a range of sources. The postholder will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and collating information with a high degree of accuracy.

Responsibilities
  • Work independently, following management requirements and ensuring the standard of your own work.
  • Maintain accurate records and collate information with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Liaise with multiple departments and handle queries from a range of sources.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and professional conduct when dealing with staff, external agencies and the public.
  • Be competent with Microsoft Office and ideally have experience working with Careflow and iPortal.
Person specification Qualifications
  • Good general education, including GCSE English or equivalent.
  • RSA word processing or equivalent.
Skills and Knowledge
  • Secretarial/clerical experience.
  • 2 years’ experience working in an acute hospital setting.
Personal Qualities
  • Good communication skills; ability to work in a demanding, pressurised environment.
  • Ability to work with confidential information and use own initiative.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
