Maintenance Engineer, Stowmarket

A large and well-invested food manufacturing site in Stowmarket is looking to strengthen its engineering team with the appointment of a Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer . This is a key role within a 24/7 operation, supporting a complex production facility and ensuring plant reliability across multiple process areas. The successful engineer will play an important part in maintaining production performance, minimising downtime and supporting ongoing improvements across the site.The Role Working as part of the site engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving a range of manufacturing equipment and site services. Key responsibilities include: Responding quickly and effectively to engineering breakdowns Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across the siteSupporting plant modifications and small engineering improvement projects Working to maximise machine availability and plant efficiency Maintaining high standards of health and safety at all times Supporting production teams to ensure the plant runs efficiently The site includes a variety of process and production systems, making this a varied and technically interesting engineering role.The Candidate A multi-skilled engineer with both mechanical and electrical capability Experience fault finding on PLCs and process control equipment Able to work to tight response times and challenging deadlines Comfortable working independently and using your own initiative Flexible and adaptable to the demands of a fast-paced manufacturing environmentKnowledge of continuous improvement or TPM practices would be beneficial Engineers from food manufacturing or other continuous process industries will be considered.
