Transport Supervisor Nights, Swindon

People Solutions are recruiting for a highly established Company based in Swindon, who are looking for three Transport Supervisors for the following shifts: Fixed Late Shift - 2pm-10pm, Monday-Friday. Paying £26K pa Fixed Night Shift ? 10pm-6am, Monday-Friday. Paying £28K pa You main responsibilities will include: - Despatch & Debrief of drivers in accordance with company standards. - Managing the night shunter and ensuring all departures are made on time and in full. - Liaising with drivers over the telephone dealing with enquiries, queries and supporting the drivers to maximise 100% service delivery. - Dealing with breakdown in accordance with Fleet Management procedure. - Dealing with transport issues effectively. - Tracking vehicles to ensure vehicles arrive on time and follow correct routes. - Drawing up a driver manifest prior to dispatch ensuring all information is correctly displayed and drivers fully understand their duties in full. - Reporting any problems / discrepancies drivers have are listened to and channelled to the correct department for rectification. - Handing over a night report at the end of their shift addressing any issues and a full breakdown of the night's events. - Manage the TruTac system reports and Infringements, relaying information to the Transport Manager and Fleet Manager. - Maintaining the fleet, ensuring vehicles and trailers are maintained to a high standard. The ideal candidate will: - Be a well rounded individual who has a sound understanding of the logistics industry to include compliance, fleet maintenance and operations. - Possess an excellent telephone manner - Have excellent interpersonal skills - Be smart, presentable and professional - Be able to think on their own initiative - Be a team player who can integrate seamlessly and work effectively and proactively under pressure. - Be an energised individual who has 'get up and go' and treats our internal team and drivers with respect at all times.
