The vacancy
Hours: Full time - 35 hours per week/ 70 hours over two weeks (nine-day fortnight)
The role
We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Building Surveyor to join our Asset Management team here at Housing 21.
Within the role you will provide professional surveying and technical support and leadership to the surveying team, contributing to the smooth and efficient delivery of the Asset Management strategy.
You will deliver Housing 21's technical service providing effective capital investment, cyclical, statutory maintenance services; on time and budget and in line with legislation, Housing 21 policy, and strategic objectives
You will also undertake the role and responsibilities of the Building Safety Manager in accordance with the Building Safety Bill / Act and Housing 21's policies.

What we're looking for
The essential requirements for the role include:
- Substantial experience in a surveying role in a housing association, private practice, local authority, or similar
- Proven track record in undertaking major building projects of a complex nature
- Full contract administration responsibilities of a range of technical and complex major works projects; including preparing tender documentation, cost analysis and budgetary control, site management, supervising contractors, quality control and certification
- Robust understanding of current health and safety legislation, CDM (including Principal Designer experience) and comprehensive knowledge of other building related statutory obligations
- Fully proficient in CAD design work
- Fully trained in AutoCAD or similar design software
- Degree or HND in a construction related discipline or relevant experience
