With ambitious plans for the future, there hasn?t been a more exciting time to join us.    We currently have an opportunity for a Transport Team Leader to join us working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern working 06:00 to 18:30. Join us as a Transport Team Leader and you can be a part of the aspiring team that brings Avara Foods to life.  Purpose of the role To support the Logistics Section Manager in managing the Transport processes to meet safety, legal compliance and cost targets.  Completing the transport delivery schedule to successfully finished goods to our customers and movement of raw material throughout our factory network.   Whilst the role is primarily office based, you will also be required to conduct site walks in order to support the team.  Key responsibilities: Completion of the daily Transport schedule to ensure deliveries are made as required by all our customers in a cost effective, safe and compliant manner. Supporting your Transport colleagues by covering the transport desk handling calls involving vehicle breakdowns, delivery discrepancies, customer service issues and any other delivery related queries. Conduct driver pre and post shift briefs to gather information on delivery performance, load discrepancies defects and Health and Safety issues. Escalation of any customer service issues via the various departments. Organise and motivate goods yard colleagues to ensure they are working to their full potential and the operation is effectively staffed. Collation of tachograph reports including; infringement letters and weekly compliance reports to ensure legal compliance from a driver?s hours regulations perspective whilst offering help and advise to drivers (both agency and FTE?s) who experience problems. Maintain the defect procedure ensuring vehicles are roadworthy at all time and defects are rectified in a timely manner. Supporting legal compliance by ensuring vehicles are serviced in line with our service plan published by the Compliance Administrator. Deputise for the Logistics Section Manager when required. Ensuring staffing issues are dealt with effectively, consistently and fairly. Maintain safety standards and introduce improvements where necessary. The duties of the post and job description will be regularly reviewed by your line manager.What we are looking for Essential Excellent communication skills. Good Excel and outlook knowledge. Sound knowledge of all aspects of Road Haulage legislation. Good geographical knowledge with some experience of routing and scheduling a fleet of vehicles. Ability to form good working relationships with all colleagues and managers. The ability to work proactively and reactively. Knowledge and understanding of all Transport relating systems, for example Tachomaster, Telematics, tracking systems to name a few. Experience working in a busy Transport office environment.Desirable Possess a Road Haulage CPC qualification. MHE trained.Skills and Abilities Excellent communicator with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels Attention to detail Analytical skills Ability to make clear assessments and appropriate decisions with considerations to all areas of the Faccenda Foods businesses. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise and plan volumes and departmental workloads affectively.
