Setting Out Engineer, Trowbridge

We are currently seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a busy commercial construction project. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a well-established team delivering a high-quality development from early-stage works through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Setting out for ground floor slab, ensuring accuracy and compliance with design specifications
• Overseeing and setting out drainage systems, including levels, gradients, and alignment
• Supporting and coordinating enabling works, including site preparation and initial infrastructure
• Setting out and monitoring external works, such as roads, kerbing, and landscaping elements
• Interpreting and working from technical drawings and site plans
• Carrying out regular quality checks and maintaining accurate site records
• Liaising with site managers, subcontractors, and survey teams to ensure smooth project delivery

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on commercial construction projects
• Strong knowledge of drainage, slabs, and external works
• Proficiency with surveying equipment (e.g. total stations, GPS)
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings accurately
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience
