We are looking for an organised and proactive Business Support Officer who takes pride in keeping services running smoothly and enjoys supporting teams in a busy, public-facing environment.
Wiltshire Council is one of seven local authorities that have been chosen to participate in the Kinship Allowance Pilot scheme. As part of this initiative, we are seeking to expand our established Kinship Team. This post will be offered on an initial two-year fixed-term contract, with the potential for extension through to September 2029.
Our Kinship and Fostering team are responsible for the supervision, support and training of approved foster carers to ensure care arrangements meet children's needs and improve outcomes for the children we care for. The team also supports Special Guardianship and Private Fostering arrangement
On a daily basis, you will provide effective administrative support to the Kinship Allowance Pilot Scheme, managing finance processes, maintaining systems, producing reports, and providing essential phone support. You will work closely with internal teams to resolve issues, improve processes, keep guidance and documentation up to date, and ensure information is accurate, compliant, and accessible.
You will need strong administrative experience, confidence using office IT systems, the ability to analyse and present data clearly, excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the confidence to work independently while contributing as part of a wider team in a fast-paced environment.
