Description

The Neonatal unit in Truro Cornwall are looking for a bright and friendly person to join our team of ward clerks. Previous clerical experience in the health service would be desirable.

You should be organized and well‑motivated person with a mature and flexible approach to your work. The post involves contact with the children and their families, so good communication skills are vital.

Main duties of the job

Provide administrative support to the ward based clinical staff.

Contribute to the effective running of the ward by concentrating on tasks which directly support administration systems and procedures.

Provide a reception service on the ward welcoming patients, visitors and staff and dealing with queries both internally and externally with the organization.

Ensure that the quality of data being managed and processed is of a high standard.

To support the Senior Nursing Staff with administrative duties.

Person SpecificationQualifications
  • NVQ in Administration / customer service / IHRIM Cert of Technical Competence
Experience
  • Previous Experience working in a clerical position with the general public
  • Clerical experience within the NHS
  • Knowledge of NHS / RCHT administrative systems
Skills and disposition
  • Effective communicator, experience problem solver, can prioritise workload under pressure
