Role Title: Performance Coach
Reports to: Sporting Director / Technical Director (or nominated senior lead)
Location: Trackside, factory and travel as required
Start: ASAP
To optimise the physical performance, movement efficiency, recovery and nutritional standards of drivers and team members operating in a high-pressure, elite motorsport environment.
This role is about performance advantage. The Performance Coach will design, deliver and embed practical, evidence-based programmes that improve strength, speed, endurance, fitness, reaction, recovery and resilience — enabling individuals and the team as a whole to operate at their physical best under sustained pressure.
Key Responsibilities High Performance Coaching – Drivers- Design and deliver individualised performance programmes for drivers
- Optimise strength, conditioning, mobility, reaction speed and endurance
- Support heat tolerance, hydration strategy and in-car physical demands
- Coach efficient movement patterns to reduce fatigue and injury risk
- Monitor performance trends and adapt programmes accordingly
- Support race-weekend readiness and recovery
- Support mechanics, engineers and travelling team members with:
- Strength and conditioning for physical job demands
- Injury prevention and longevity in physically demanding roles
- Mobility, posture and movement efficiency
- Deliver practical, realistic programmes that work around travel and long hours
- Embed performance habits that improve resilience and stamina during events
- Set clear, high-performance nutrition principles for:
- Training periods
- Race weekends
- Travel and time-zone disruption
- Provide practical, no-nonsense guidance on:
- Fueling for performance
- Hydration and electrolyte balance
- Recovery, sleep and nervous system regulation
- Work with catering, hospitality or logistics teams where required
- Educate drivers and team members on:
- Why performance behaviours matter
- How marginal gains compound under pressure
- Build credibility and trust — this role must influence behaviour, not just advise
- Contribute to a culture of accountability, professionalism and elite standards
- Work closely with:
- Sporting, technical and operations leadership
- Medical, physio or rehabilitation partners (where applicable)
- Align physical performance objectives with sporting and technical demands
- Support continuous improvement across the season
- Proven experience in high-performance sport or elite environments
- Strong background in:
- Strength & conditioning
- Applied movement and biomechanics
- Performance nutrition (practical, not theoretical)
- Experience working with athletes and high-performing teams under pressure
- Ability to adapt programmes to travel-heavy, unpredictable schedules
- Confident, credible communicator who can influence experienced professionals
- Performance-driven and outcome-focused
- Calm, grounded and highly credible
- Practical and realistic — understands real-world constraints
- Comfortable challenging poor habits and raising standards
- Respected presence in high-pressure environments
