Job Description : CHEF (temporary) The Old Vicarage & Willows Care Home is a Harbour Healthcare Home, 'Caring, fun and family run!' Our Nursing Home is set in the residential area of Burtonwood, offering first class facilities and the highest standards of care in a warm, friendly environment offering our residents a good quality of life. We require an experienced temporary Chef to join our team. The ideal candidate will be someone who enjoys being part of a busy care home environment and have a passion for producing high quality meals for our residents and meet with CQC Compliance and EHO Inspections. Job role: · Support the preparation, cooking and serving of meals and snacks throughout the day in line with our residents? preferences and dietary needs e.g. diabetics, texture modified food, vegetarian · Assist with stock management · Maintain food safety checks and records as per company requirements · Be professional and courteous at all times with clients, colleagues, external professionals, family members, and visitors to the home · Ensure that you are aware of and adhere to company policy and procedures · Follow Health and Safety procedures required of you · Ensure cleanliness of food service areas · Work alongside the Activities Team to cater for special events taking place within the home. Essential Characteristics: · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Good interpersonal skills · Good team player · Follow food safety requirements · Possess good judgement, problem solving, and decision-making skills · Effective time keeping and time management Desirable Characteristics: · Previous experience of working in a care setting · Qualification(s) in catering would be a bonus · Qualification(s) in food safety/hygiene would be a bonus This position is subject to two acceptable references and an enhanced DBS Disclosure
