As an Income Finance Assistant, you will be part of a small, dynamic team responsible for managing the allocation of all incoming funds. This role requires flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities. Initially, the position will be office-based, with the option for hybrid working later on. In this role, you will:
  • Process and allocate incoming funds accurately.
  • Reconcile and clear transactions related to the authority's bank accounts.
  • Assist with the use of our corporate ERP and Income Management Systems.
  • Respond to departmental queries and provide support to colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with archiving processes.
  • Monitor and clear the email group inbox, ensuring timely responses.

To succeed as an Income Finance Assistant, you should have:
  • A good understanding of accounting concepts and principles.
  • Competence in standard office IT systems, including Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in a finance environment is preferred but not essential.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths at grade C or equivalent.

We are looking for candidates who demonstrate:
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in their work.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work well in a team and independently.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to tasks.
  • Good time management skills to prioritise workloads effectively.
