Our client school is a very special school. They offer a wide variety of educational provision for a diverse group of pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions and emotional and social difficulties. All of the pupils have an EHCP. The Role The company are proud to offer the opportunity for a driven and passionate individual to join their dedicated team. This role will form part of the Senior Leadership team within the school and will be integral to the succession of the school. The successful candidate will be expected to be creative and innovative and drive improvements within education. You will provide day to day operational leadership and direction of the site, and ensuring that high standards of punctuality, attendance, behaviour and learning of pupils are met. You will be required to contribute to the strategic development of the school through membership of the School?s School Leadership Team, including participation in monitoring and review procedures. In addition, you will have experience teaching in a learning environment for pupils with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. You will also have experience of managing an aspect of school provision at whole school or subject level. The successful candidate will have experience leading Ofsted inspections with a minimum of a ?Good? outcome. Responsibilities within this role will also include the development of the staff to ensure they can complete their roles to the highest standard, to identify targets for the pupils so that they can achieve and make progress with their learning and continue to drive the vision of the school. Previous Knowledge and ExperienceQualifications Essential Degree and qualified teacher status Desirable Post Graduate qualification or substantive training Experience and Knowledge Essential Experience of teaching in a learning environment for pupils with emotional, social and behavioural difficulties. Experience of managing an aspect of school provision at whole school or subject level. Experience of leading and developing a new school project designed to improve the learning experience and outcomes for pupils or school improvement. Experience of managing pupil behaviour both in and outside the classroom A secure knowledge of National Curriculum Knowledge and understanding of legislation for Behaviour and Attendance Knowledge and understanding of current assessment and progress methods Successful classroom practitioner who is able to demonstrate good outcomes in own subject areas. Secure knowledge and understanding of how children learn Knowledge and understanding of barriers to learning and how they can be overcome Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and other health and safety issues within a school environment Desirable Experience of leading developments in teaching and learning Experience of mentoring /coaching teachers to improve teaching Essential Skills Excellent interpersonal skills An ability to manage a large and varied workload An ability to motivate and inspire teams in a drive for improvement An ability to use ICT based monitoring systems and produce reports that are both quantitative and qualitative to affect school improvement Excellent communication skills, oral and written An ability to lead and inspire teams Personal Qualities Emotional resilience Stamina Excellent interpersonal skills Warmth and empathy towards young people Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
