A part time (33 hours) maternity cover opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clerk primarily based in Haematology, responsible for ensuring all reception processes are carried out timely and accurately to provide quality service to all users.
The post holder will interact with the General Public, Nursing, Medical staff and other Trust Administrative and Clerical Staff.
Responsibilities- Attend, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
- Speak face-to-face or over the telephone to meet patient needs, including booking appointments.
- Use and access Patient Centre and attend patients at reception desks.
- Book appointments for patients as required.
- Deal with enquiries of a sensitive nature.
- Attend departmental meetings as required.
- Access the Patient Administration System to accurately record and collect patient data, ensuring errors are identified and corrected, including patient demographics.
- Coordinate clinic preparation and various administrative tasks to support clinical activity.
