On behalf of our client, Team4you are looking to recruit empathetic, enthusiastic Support Workers. to work with young people living with a range of learning disabilities. This role is residential based in Wolverhampton and although no direct qualifications are required to be be considered for this position, a background in working in a residential setting with adults or children is essential. My client offers a comprehensive training and development programme and role offer fantastic opportunity for career progression with an attractive shift pattern! This is rewarding career opportunity, which allows you to be directly involved with young people and work as part of a strong team to positively shape their future and make a difference to their lives. Along with an attractive basic salary, you will also receive an additional shift allowance payment for covering a "sleep in" duty. This is currently set at £35 per shift. Due to the nature of the role, you will need to offer flexibility and work as part of a team to ensure the staff rota is covered at all times. You will receive outstanding support and training to develop the skills and positive outlook you must already possess. Due to the nature of this role, applicants must be over the age of 22 and must hold a full driving licence. Main Duties (include but are not limited to): * Supporting young people in their daily lives through the framework clearly laid out in their individual behaviour management plan * Demonstrating outstanding practice as laid out in the Organisations Policies and Procedures * Promoting independence * Writing, reviewing and updating where necessary including: Behaviour Management Plans (BMP), Therapeutic Support Plans (TSP), Individual Risk Assessments * Completing in house daily paperwork for the Service and individual young people * Liaising with other professionals to ensure the welfare and safety of all young people * Daily report writing * Attending fortnightly team meetings * Attend any required training Key Skills: * Excellent communication and listening skills. * Ability to demonstrate a therapeutic approach at all times * A strong commitment to individual practice development * Ability to remain calm under pressure * Demonstrate a professional approach to behaviour management * Work as part of a team * Be flexible to work a shift pattern with overnight sleep-in duties as a core requirement Benefits: * A competitive salary with enhancements and a genuine opportunity for progression. * Generous annual leave allowance. * Free training from in-house Learning & Development team. * Support with study where required
