Job Description As an Asbestos Analyst, you?ll receive a salary of between £26,000 - £28,500 per annum depending on experience, plus you?ll benefit from a contributory pension scheme and life cover Job Title: Asbestos Analyst Job Type: Permanent Hours: 40 per week Job Location: Wolverhampton As an Asbestos Analyst you will be joining a team responsible for the delivery of Asbestos Services, including; Asbestos Surveys, Asbestos Analysis, Building Surveying, Health and Safety, Environmental Monitoring, Asbestos Monitoring, Asbestos Training and Asbestos Testing. Key Accountabilities * HSG 248 Asbestos: the analysts? guide for sampling, analysis and clearance procedures, and in particular Appendix 1: Fibres in air: sampling and evaluation of by phase contrast microscopy. Candidates will preferably have prior experience of analysing fibre count samples and may already be participating in a quality control scheme. * Filter Preparation, Fibre Counting and Set Up of Air Sampling Equipment * Setting up the equipment for air sampling, (i.e. a clean filter correctly mounted in a sampling head and the setting and measurement of a suitable flow of air), * Mounting filters, preparing slides, setting up the microscope and demonstrating an understanding of the counting rules, * significant experience within a UKAS accredited company in Four Stage Clearances and Air Monitoring in a variety of property types * To carry out validation following removal works (4 stage clearance testing) in accordance with in house SOPS?s and UKAS/ regulative requirements. Qualifications To be successful in this position, you will need previous experience working within an Asbestos Analyst role. In addition to this, to be successful in the role of Asbestos Analyst you will need excellent knowledge of UK asbestos legislation and an excellent understanding of air monitoring, clearance testing and asbestos removal management. In addition to the above you will also need to demonstrate the following: * P403 / P404 qualified with a sound understanding of basic air monitoring * Full UK driving license * P404 Proficiency Qualification Air Sampling of Asbestos and MMMF and Requirements for a Certificate of Reoccupation Following Clearance of Asbestos * Undertakes clearance testing( asbestos site analyst) * Excellent knowledge of the health and safety legislation in relation to asbestos The following attributes would be desirable, but not essential; * Experience in project management of asbestos surveying or air sampling work. * Experience in asbestos management and removal. * CoCA (Asbestos). * any other P-certificates * Health & Safety qualifications.
