Technical Manager, Wolverhampton WV2

We are working with a well-established British precision engineering manufacturer with over 100 years’ experience in producing high-quality hydraulic components and assemblies. The company is renowned for engineering excellence and supplies critical parts to industries including heavy machinery, mobile equipment, marine, offshore energy, defence, and industrial plant.

The business is seeking a Technical Manager to oversee the engineering function, ensuring designs are manufacturable, technically robust, and delivered to the highest standards. The role is hands-on and requires close engagement with customers and internal teams to deliver practical, precision-engineered solutions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, development and technical delivery of hydraulic components and assemblies
• Review engineering drawings, specifications and material selections
• Ensure machining tolerances, component performance and quality standards are met
• Liaise with production, quality and project teams to maintain delivery schedules
• Provide technical guidance and support to customers
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives and engineering best practice

Candidate Profile
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in hydraulics, fluid power or precision engineering. Candidates from broader manufacturing and precision engineering backgrounds with strong mechanical and machining knowledge are also encouraged to apply.
