TherolesitswithintheBuildingSafetyTeamandworksinclosecollaborationwithinternalenforcementofficerstosupportthedeliveryofthePrivateSectorBuildingSafetyProgramme.TheprogrammeisdesignedtoidentifyhighandmediumriseprivateresidentialbuildingsinSouthwarkwhichmayhaveunsafecladdingorotherfiresafetydefects. WorkinginpartnershipwiththeMinistryofHousing,CommunitiesandLocalGovernment(MHCLG),theBuildingSafetyProgrammesupportsbuildingownersintakingimmediatestepstosafeguardresidentsandinmakinginformeddecisionsregardinginterimmeasuresandremedialworks.Thepostholderisresponsibleforcollectingandreviewingexternalwallsystems(EWS)data,specificallyfocussingonthosewithcombustiblecladding.Theaimistoensurethatrisksofunsafecladdingandanyotheridentifiedfiresafetydeficienciesareevaluatedandaddressedappropriately. KeyResponsibilities: InterimBuildingSafetyManagerUndertakeinitialdesktopreviewofprivatelyownedhighandmediumriseresidentialbuildingswithintheBorough. Developarisk-basedinspectionprogrammeofmediumandhigh-riseresidentialbuildings,collectdataonexternalwallsystems(EWS)andcontactdetailsofthebuildingproprietors. ReviewEWSdata,FRAEWreports,andotherassociateddocuments,categorisebuildingsbasedonrisklevelsandreferfurtheractiononbuildingswithsuspectedunsafecladding,includinganyotheridentifiedfiresafetydeficiencies,totheinternalenforcementteamspecifyingtheirriskpriorityrating.Engagewithproprietorsofbuildingswithsuspectedunsafecladdingtoobtainadditionalinformationoncladdingmaterials,Interimfiresafetymeasures,remediationfundingandremediationworkstimelines. ReviewBuildingSafetyFundandCladdingSafetySchemedataonremediationfundingandidentifyanymissingbuildings. DevelopeffectiveworkingrelationshipswiththelocalFireandRescueService,MHCLGandotherstakeholderstoobtainandsharedataonbuildingswithunsafecladding.Attendtoenquiriesfrombuildingproprietors,localcouncillorsandotherstakeholdersinatimelyandprofessionalmanner. Workcollaborativelywiththeinternalenforcementteamtosupportinvestigations,inspections,andenforcementactionswherenecessary. Contributetocontinuousimprovementinitiatives,includingteamprocesses,datamaintenance,KPIreporting,teammeetingsandotheroperationalactivities.AttendtoanyotherdutiesasrequiredbytheSeniorManagement,inlinewiththeobjectivesoftheBuildingSafetyProgramme. Workingpattern: InterimBuildingSafetyManager Theworkpatterninvolvesspendingthreedaysouton-siteundertakingbuildinginspectionsandtwodaysintheofficeforreportingandadministrativetasks. Qualifications/experienceInterimBuildingSafetyManagerAbachelor'sdegreeorequivalentcertificateinBuildingSurveyingorarelatedfieldisrequired. 5yearsexperienceinBuildingSafety/FireSafety/BuildingSurveying ExperienceofundertakingHHSRSSurveys. KnowledgeofkeylegislationandguidanceincludingtheBuildingRegulations2010,HousingAct2004,BuildingSafetyAct2022,theRegulatoryReform(FireSafety)Order2005,FireSafetyAct2021,andtheFireSafety(England)Regulations2022.Familiaritywithfiresafetydesignprinciplesforhigh-riseresidentialbuildingsandexternalwallsystems.
