Job description
This is a Part time / Job Share vacancy working 21.5 hours excluding breaks.
KeyResponsibilities
As a Security Officer, you will:
Ensure site safety and securityProtect Defence personnel, visitors, and property.
Conduct patrolsMonitor designated areas on foot or by vehicle, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
Control accessCheck credentials, issue passes, and escort visitors as required.
Perform searchesConduct thorough security checks on vehicles, baggage, and personnel.
Respond to incidentsIdentify risks, manage security breaches, and escalate as needed.
Assist employees and visitorsProvide professional and courteous support on-site.
Monitor security systemsOperate CCTV, alarms, and communication devices.
Manage traffic and parkingControl vehicle movement and ensure safe site access.
Report and documentMaintain security logs and complete detailed incident reports.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are required, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This role involves patrolling large areas, standing for periods, staying alert and responding quickly when needed, so a good level of physical fitness is essential.
Shift Pattern&Flexibility
This is a Day Rostered position, working 24 hours per week including a daily meal break (21.5 hours net). This could be 2 x 12-hour shifts or 2.5 x 9.6 hours between the hours of 0600 hrs&2200 hrs over a seven-day period, as stipulated by the shift pattern agreed at the Unit depending on site requirements. This will include being rostered in a flexible manner (termed a flexible week) within the roster. During the flexible week, the working Days and Shifts will routinely be stipulated in advance but may change at short notice, (this should be no less than 48 hours). The exact working pattern will be explained in full during the interview.
