We are currently working on behalf of a welcoming and supportive rural primary school in North Yorkshire, whose most recent Ofsted inspection was graded ‘Good’. They are looking to appoint a caring and enthusiastic General Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team from September 2026.

This is a fixed term role for one academic year, supporting teaching and learning within a Nursery and Reception class. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a small and friendly school community that places a strong emphasis on nurturing children, creating positive relationships and providing engaging learning experiences for all pupils.

• Support teaching and learning within the Nursery and Reception classroom
• Work with individual pupils and small groups to support development and progress
• Help to create a safe, engaging and stimulating learning environment
• Support children’s personal, social and emotional development
• Work closely alongside the class teacher and wider staff team
• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

• Has experience working with young children, ideally within an Early Years setting
• Is caring, patient and nurturing in their approach
• Has strong communication and teamwork skills
• Is enthusiastic, flexible and happy to get involved in all aspects of school life
• Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
