ASD Learning Support Assistants need in Lambeth

Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist school based in Southwark which specialises in supporting young people with Autism, communication difficulties and speech & language delays with additional learning difficulties. This School is located close to Clapham North, Stockwell and Brixton making it a great location for those who rely on public transport. If you have a car, there is plenty of parking to accommodate you. This role would suit a flexible and approachable individual who has experience working in a special needs' environment which utilitises SCERTS & TEACCH. Developing the whole child and young person is important and the focus of the school. As a learning support mentor part of your role is to provide a secure, caring and supportive environment in which there is an expectation of high pupil achievement and raised attainment. Your main duties will include: ? Working 1:1 or in small groups. ? Catering to each students' individual needs. ? Encouraging and supporting students. ? Providing support for teaching staff. ? Preparing materials, equipment and lessons ? Assessing and reporting individual student progress. ? Liaising with parents, carers and professionals such as mainstream teachers and educational welfare officers. Other Experience and desirable qualifications: ? First aid trained ?
